Communities and job listings

Purpose

Set up a community that attaches to your organization's events, and post job or internship listings.

Before you start

  • Both features are not available yet for every organizer — they switch on per account.
  • Creating a community needs organization.manage (the owner). Managing one you already run needs community.manage.
  • Posting a listing needs listing.manage — held by the owner, or by anyone you've given the Recruiter role (see Getting started).
  • Publishing a listing needs your organization to be verified — see Getting started. Community creation does not require verification.

Steps

Communities:

  1. On Community (/communities), the owner presses New community, names it, and becomes its organiser.
  2. Communities you organise or moderate — for this organization, or any other you're on the team of — appear on this same screen.
  3. Community settings, moderators and events attached to it are managed from inside the community once created.

Listings:

  1. On Listings (/listings), press New listing, fill in the role details, and save it as a draft.
  2. Press Publish when ready. If your organization isn't verified yet, this is refused with "Verify the organization first" — the listing stays a draft. The owner requests verification from Settings (/organization); anyone else is told to ask the owner.
  3. Once published, applications come in against the listing; review and act on them from the listing's own panel.
  4. Press Close when you're done hiring for it — a closed listing stops taking new applications.

Escalate when

  • The Communities or Listings module isn't available for your organization and you need it — this is switched on by Sotillion, not something you can turn on yourself.
  • Your organization's verification is stuck and it's blocking a listing you need published.

There is no in-app support case system for organizers yet; use the contact channel Sotillion gave you directly.

Record

  • Creating or updating a community: audit labels community.create and community.update, written by the server.
  • Publishing or closing a listing: audit labels listing.publish and listing.close, written by the server.
  • Keep your own record of who's on your recruiting team and why — Event Admin shows current Recruiter grants, not a history of past ones.
